Surrounded in his final moments by his adoring wife, six daughters and loving siblings, Anthony passed away peacefully on 11 June 2023.


Dearly beloved husband of Heather Mustaca (nee McCulloch).

Devoted father to his six daughters and sons-in-law; Jacqueline and Rocco Crino, Catherine and Rossano Zaurrini, Angela and Vince Mellino, Luisa and Alex Politano, Margherita and Tony Stipo, Francesca and Berge Nalbandian.

Proud Grandfather to Francesca and Maximus Crino; Leonardo, Octavia, Vincent and Emilia Zaurrini; Antonio-Umberto Mellino; Anthony and Marco Politano; Lucia, Giacomo, Lorenzo and Evalina Stipo; Ilaria and Giuliana Nalbandian.

Much loved son of Pietro and Giacomina Mustaca (deceased).

Loving brother to Rocco (Roy) and Josephine Mustaca, Carmela and Michelangelo Vumbaca, Maria and John Morabito, John and Mary (deceased) Mustaca, Catherine and Ellis Zatz.

Son-in-law to William and Helen McCulloch (deceased), brother-in-law to John McCulloch, Jane McCulloch (deceased), Elspeth and Brian Newby.


Anthony was born in Calabria, Italy on 1 September 1944 and migrated to Sydney, Australia in 1956. He was a dedicated educator, a long-serving Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Willoughby City Council, and a highly respected community leader.

In recognition of his extensive achievements, he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2013 and an Italian Knighthood in 2017. His memory and legacy will live on through his loving family.


The Rosary for Anthony will take place on Monday 19th June, 7pm at Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Parish, 94 Archer Street, Chatswood.

Anthony’s Funeral will take place on Tuesday 20 June 2023 at Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Parish Chatswood, commencing at 10am, followed by the Burial at Field of Mars Cemetery, Ryde.

A Celebration of Life and light refreshments will be held at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf after the Burial.
