A former dedicated member of the State Executive (2004 - 2017) Harold joined the RSL in September 1968 on his return from Vietnam serving with the 6th Battalion RAR. As President of the Woorinen Sub-Branch from 1981-2017 and as the State Executive representative to Regions 6 & 7, Harold was a tireless advocate for Veterans and War Widows and was a foundation member of both the Swan Hill and District Veterans Information Centre and the Swan Hill Sub-Branch of the Vietnam Veterans Association. Harold was awarded Life Membership in 1996, Life Membership with Gold Badge in 2013 and the RSL’s highest award of the Meritorious Service Medal in 2017. For his outstanding volunteer work for veterans and Legacy, Harold was recognised in the Order of Australia in 2014.


The State Executive, friends at ANZAC House and Members of RSL Victoria extend their sincerest condolences to Darlene and Harold’s family on the loss of a wonderful RSL volunteer and a very fine gentleman. He will be sadly missed by so many.
