A eulogy for my best friend: How to share their story
Read My Tributes article where we provide support on expressing your love and friendship for your best friend in a eulogy.
14.4.1944 – 7.2.2024
We said goodbye to our beloved Rob this week.
Cherished eldest son of Les (dec) and Bev (dec).
Much-loved brother of Bronwyn, Jenni, Cate, and Richard (dec).
Soul mate and life partner to Liz.
Proud and loving father of Sarah and Emily, Kate and Emma.
Cheeky Papa to Ollie and Arthur, and Poppy the Popster to Luca.
Rob was an outdoorsman, adventurer and natural leader – a highly regarded Antarctic Station Leader, Voyage Leader and Field Leader over many years, and an inspiring Expedition Manager for the Mawson’s Huts Foundation. He was an enthusiastic sailor, pilot and motorcyclist, and had an impressive stable of aging vehicles. And yet there was nothing he enjoyed more than shooting the breeze over a cuppa with good mates.
Munching, mooching, cruising, laughing through life. He will be terribly missed, but we will treasure our memories. We have him in our hearts always.
Private cremation at Rob’s request. A celebration of Rob’s life will be held on what would have been his eightieth birthday. Details to come.
