Loving Grandfather to Benjamin and Emily. Beloved Brother and Brother-in-law to Robert 'Bob' (dec'd) and Margaret, Peter and Frances, Kathleen, Keith and Robyn.

John was raised in

West End, Brisbane attending St Laurence's College. His passion for swimming led him to the 1960 Olympics in Rome and to surf lifesaving accolades with the Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club.

John and his late wife Robyn ran the John Rigby's Swim School at Everton Park and Brisbane City Council pools for many years, teaching, coaching and training a generation of young people throughout Brisbane. John's later years were spent in Bardon surrounded by family and enjoying travel adventures throughout Australia.

Relatives and friends are invited to join in celebrating John's life with a service to be held at

St Francis of Assisi,

47 Dornoch Terrace,

West End at 10.30am on Thursday 23rd June 2022.
