Ordained to Priesthood 29th June 1963 at St Monica's Cathedral Cairns. Assistant Priest St Monica's Cathedral (1963), St Joseph's Parish Atherton (1964), Mother of Good Counsel Parish North Cairns (1965-1966), St Monica's Cathedral Parish (1966), St Joseph's Parish Atherton (1966-1968), St Teresa's Parish Ravenshoe (1968-1973), St John's Parish Silkwood (1974-1979), St Augustine's Parish Stratford and Holy Cross Parish Northern Beaches (1979-1993), St Michael's Parish Gordonvale (1993-2012), Mercy Place Westcourt (2012-2016). Most dearly loved Son of John and Mary Bonner (both dec'd), loved Brother and Brother-in-law of Alice and Norman Davis (both dec'd), Margaret Bonner (dec'd), Gabrielle and Thomas Tate, Peter and Dorothy Bonner, loved Uncle of their Families. Fr Bonner entered into Eternal Life, at Mercy Place Westcourt, Cairns, on Saturday morning, 26th November, 2016, aged 85 years.His body will be received at St Monica's Cathedral, 183 Abbott Street, Cairns City, at a Vigil of Prayers and Memories and a Liturgical Reception of his body THIS FRIDAY EVENING, 2nd December, 2016, commencing at 7.00pm. The Most Reverend Bishop James Foley, Bishop of Cairns, Priests and Religious of the Diocese of Cairns, all Family, Relatives, Parishioners and many Friends of FATHER MICHAEL BONNER are respectfully invited to attend a Solemn Funeral Requiem Mass, to be celebrated at St Monica's Cathedral, 183 Abbott Street, Cairns City, THIS SATURDAY MORNING, 3rd December, 2016, commencing at 9.30am.
