Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Prudence (Prue) HAUSSMANN (nee Hood) Late of Regis Aged Care and Woodward Retirement Village Whitfield and of Dalrymple Street, Edge Hill, Cairns, aged 90 years. Prue left us on Tuesday 8th May after a long battle with Parkinson s disease and is now finally at rest. She leaves her beloved Husband Graeme, and grieving Sons David of Victoria, B.C. Canada, Geoffrey of Brisbane, recently Townsville and Daughter Gillian of Brisbane and their Wives, April and Lesley and Husband Julian, and Grandchildren Nathan, Matthew, Isabel, Megan, Joseph and Odette. Also her very loving Sister- in-law Barbara, Brother-in-law Brian, Brother Jan, and Nieces and Nephews Eric and Evy Page-Hanify, Barry and Jenny Hood, Garth Wells and Greg, Michelle, Belinda, Daniel and Kerri Mellifont. Graeme pays tribute to Dr Katrina Marshall of Barrier Reef Medical and Bev Macdonald of Regis Aged Care Whitfield and her staff of nurses and carers for their loving attention during Prue s final days. Her most dearly loving Husband Graeme invites all her friends and family to attend Prue s funeral and Celebration of her Life, to be held at the Chapel of the Cairns Funeral Directors, 36 Pease St, Manunda, Cairns on Monday 14th May at 12.30 pm, followed by a Burial at Cairns Cemetery and afternoon tea. The Members of the Cairns Bridge Club, Australians in Retirement (AIR) and Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society (ADFAS) are particularly invited. Donations to Parkinson s Queensland would be welcome, and Graeme invites guests to dress in bright colours if you wish.
