BURKE, Brian Joseph

Passed away peacefully on 8 July 2023, aged 86 years. Beloved husband of Fay (deceased). Loving supportive dad and father-in-law of Michael and Jo. Brian was a popular member of the Southport Surf Club, where he was a life-saver in his early years, before becoming a major Queensland bookmaker. For many years he wrote the Stunned Mullet fishing column.

A funeral service to celebrate Brian will be held at Guardian Angel's Catholic Church, Southport, on Friday 21 July at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations to the Southport Surf Club would be appreciated by Dad.
