The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
The St Ann’s College community is deeply saddened that our long-time friend, generous donor and benefactor, Ian Baker Wall, AM has died.
St Ann’s collectively remembers and celebrates the extraordinary life of an innovative electrical engineer, successful businessman and philanthropist.
While Ian was a resident student at St Mark’s College in the early 1950’s, he was a champion of residential colleges in general and the opportunities they provide for young people. Ian with his wife Dr Pamela Wall, OAM are among St Ann’s College’s largest donors.
His generosity to our College helped us to build Dame Roma Mitchell House along with a range of other projects, which in turn have supported the move to Adelaide of hundreds of regional and rural students from around Australia, to undertake their undergraduate degrees.
Ian and his wife Pamela have been Governors of the College since 2009 playing a key role in shaping our development, improving our facilities and enhancing our reputation.
Ian, along with Pamela, was also a key member of the wider St Ann’s community over the years, joining us for the annual ball, our 75th Anniversary Gala Dinner held in the College Dining Room in July and at many other functions over the years.
Our thoughts are with Ian's wife, Pamela, their daughter, Annabel Wall, and their family and friends.
