VARIGOS. — CHRISSIE (nee KARPOUZES)
Born in Lygon Street Carlton on 21 May 1925 passed away peacefully on the 26 August 2020, aged 95
Creatively and artistically blessed, a trait which she has passed onto her descendants Chrissie was a devoted wife of 72 years to Dr Andrew Varigos (dec),whom she cared for at home until his passing aged 100. A loving mother to John George and Euahna and daughter in law Teena
. Forever in the hearts of brother John (dec) Michael and sister in law Joan and sister Roza.
She was a beloved Yiayia to Anthea Williams, Danae Lucas, Nicole Varigos Xanthe Ranger, Andrew Ranger, Andrew Varigos and Zelia Ranger. A Little Yiayia to Georges, Giselle and Wattle who will miss her hugs and who were fortunate to know her thanks to the unwavering medical care and attention of Euahna.
The family is forever indebted to Angela Tilly and to all the carers who cared for her over the years. Our special thanks to her caring GP Dr Christopher Higgins, Dr Manny Manolas, Dr Wilson Heriot and Dr Genie Pedagogos – for their continual attentive care.
Chrissie will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends -particularly at Easter and Christmas, a love of wearing Red, a passion for oysters and a photogenic smile that lit up a room.
