Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
In honour of a very special lady
Didamain Uibo’s (Nundhirribala’s) contribution to the NT Department of Education spanned over many decades as a passionate educator and mentor to many. Didamain started her career with the department as an Aboriginal teacher in the early 1970’s and later went on to become the Principal of Numbulwar School in East Arnhem land. Didamain served on numerous committees and boards; however, was particularly influential as a strong advocate and member of the Learning Lessons Implementation Steering Committee, which played a pivotal role in improving Aboriginal education in the NT. Didamain’s leadership, commitment and passion to education inspired others to become educators and mentors.
Chief Executive Karen Weston and the staff of the NT Department of Education extend their deepest sympathies to Didamain’s husband Mick, children Jocelyn and Selena, families, extended families and friends of Didamain Uibo on their loss.
