Passing peacefully in his sleep in his 90th year, Rodney confronted his final battle as he did with all those that came before but this time without success.
Dearly loved and admired father, father-in-law and pop of Scott, Bec, Benjamin and Sophie. Southport will never be the same.
Reunited for eternity with his beloved Colleen. As always, the last words shall be his:
The twilight years lay heavy on my shoulders. I sit today in Colleens’ home, the place she made my heaven for nigh on 60 years. It is not heaven for me now, my angel greets me no more as I open the door, she sleeps no more upon my arm, and her hand is not in mine when we walk together.
“I'll walk in the rain by your side
I'll cling to the warmth of your hand
I'll do anything to keep you satisfied
And I'll love you more than anybody can”
