The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
30.6.1928 – 28.8.2023
Born Port Pirie, South Australia, the daughter of George and Ella Gummow, and sister of George and Gwenyth (all dec).
Dearly loved wife of T.D (Dan) Sprod (dec), and mother of Tim, Michael and Daniel, supportive mother-in-law, attentive grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of two, and much-loved aunt of the Gosling boys and their families.
A loyal friend to many and a widely admired educator, an intelligent, warm, professional and hard-working leader who continued to help others in retirement as a volunteer.
Now at peace after a long struggle with dementia.
Come not to mourn for me with solemn tread
Clad in dull weeds of sad and sable hue…
But dance, as I your dances oft have led
And laugh, as I have often laughed with you.
Private cremation. Memorial service to be advised.
