SLADE. Dr Roger Michael. 22.7.1945 - 15.2.2019 The Scotch Family mourns the death of Roger Slade. An inspirational teacher at Scotch from 1976 to 2007, Roger strove to find better ways of teaching Chemistry, including writing several very successful Year 11 and 12 textbooks. Roger coached nine cross country premiership teams, 12 orienteering teams, and exceeded 100km in eight of 10 24Hour Hikes. Appointed Housemaster of Orton in 1979, and Head of Year 11 in 1985, Roger was made Dean of Studies in 1991. This flexible role included preparing timetables, and teaching Science, IT, and Geography. Scotch extends its sympathies to Roger s wife Maureen, son Andrew ( 95), and daughters Cathy and Melanie, and their families.
