SHEAHAN. _ Ivan (Old Sheanno) A good man who will be sadly missed in more ways than one. A man of wisdom with a great love for his family and his home town of Heidelberg. So much knowledge, so well read, an historian of note. Blessed with an enormous memory. Possibly the best cabinet maker in the city of Melbourne. His workmanship had to be seen to be believed. That garage will never be the same. All the kids in Weyburn Court ride the toys that he created, plus all the grandchildren and a lot of the kids around Heidelberg. My wife Margaret and son Ben and daughter Kate will have to find a new handyman AND IT WON'T BE ME! He will also be sadly missed at his parish church and school, St John's Heidelberg, on top of the hill, where he performed many chores but his biggest love of all was his Heidelberg Football Club, where he witnessed the 37-38 premierships as a young boy and then many more. No one loved Heidelberg FC more than Ivan Sheahan (he was the king of the Berg and the Prince of Warringal Park). A fitting tribute was paid to Ivan by David Batchelor who has organised a cabinet with all the premiership cups (26 in all) and the 1923 cup our first in the Diamond Valley Football League reads: "In recognition of his contribution to the HFC, Ivan Sheahan, player, committee man, life member, DVFL delegate, DVFL life member, Northern Football League No. 1 life member and a HFC legend. That says it all, thank you David for a great job! Yes, I loved my friend Ivan, I loved my time in the garage with him and I know he was proud of me. I know he loved my family and I know he loved to tell stories of my late son, Adam Gerard. His eyes would tear up and then we would laugh. I also know he loved my boy Ben, and daughter Kate, so you can see he will be missed in more ways than one. Sleep peacefully dear friend God Bless You Condolences to Jo and the entire Sheahan families May he rest in Peace _ Des and Margaret Luckman and families and Helen and Fred Podesta and families.
