The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
SAMMARTINO,
MARIO
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his
loving family.
Adored husband of Caterina loving and devoted father to
Sam and Vita, Father-in-law to
Natalie and Ollie,
Proud Grandfather to Kiara, Daniel, Liana, Alanah and Ethan. Cherished by all his brothers and sisters.
With tears we
saw you suffer,
We watched you
fade away,
Our hearts were
slowly breaking,
As you fought so
hard to stay.
You did not want to
leave us,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went
with you, the day God
called you home.
You are now peacefully sleeping away from all your pain,
But the love and
memories in our hearts
will always remain.
Rest peacefully
A gentle nature,
A heart of gold,
these are the memories
we will hold.
You suffered so long and told so few it doesn't
seem fair what you
went through.
God saw that you
were weary,
He gently closed
your tired eyes,
A tender thought
brings a tear,
A silent wish that
you were here.
You simply lived for
those you loved,
and those you loved
will forever remember.
Life is not measured by
the years you live,
But the love you gave
and the things you did
Nonno, I will look after your beloved vegetable garden every day
after school and carry on the love, passion and dedication you
taught me.
Rest in Peace
Dad / Nonno
Sam , Natalie, Kiara, Liana and Ethan Sammartino
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms
around you
And whispered
'Come with Me.'
A golden heart
stopped beating,
Hard working hands
at rest,
God broke our hearts
to prove
He only takes the best.
Forever in our hearts
Dad / Nonno
Ollie, Vita, Daniel and Alanah Gerick
