RICKARD, Diane Mary.Late of Port Douglas and Avoca Beach NSW.Passed away peacefully after a short illness on 25th October, 2015 in hospital on the Central Coast of NSW. She was 87 years old.Dearly loved mother of Shaen and Kerry, and much loved wife of Doug (dec'd). Mother-in-law of Steve. Devoted and loving grandmother of Emily and Lachlan.The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the many residents of Port Douglas who showed Dee such kindness in her later years when her sight was impaired and her ability to navigate roads and to read instructions was reduced. Thanks also to Sue Knox who was a long time supportive friend and neighbour.Special thanks to the Sheraton Mirage staff, especially Sharon on the Tour Desk, and Security Personnel, Dennis and Judy; BTS whose drivers ensured that she arrived safely at her eye specialist in Cairns; Dr Edward Guirguis, Jan and Rose at the Port Douglas Medical Practice; Dentist Dennis Blake and his wife Jenny; Meals On Wheels who supplied delicious meals delivered by their friendly, chatty volunteers; the wonderful librarians servicing Port Douglas, who ensured that she could continue her reading by supplying her with audio books.There are sure to be people who are not acknowledged in this list, but who contributed to making Dee's life enjoyable to the last.
