A eulogy for my best friend: How to share their story
Read My Tributes article where we provide support on expressing your love and friendship for your best friend in a eulogy.
ERICH RHEINLANDER 25.09.39 — 26.07.24
In his own words, "Erich has evacuated the planet." Well known for his entertaining stories of hunting and fishing in the NT during the 60’s, 70's and 80’s - boasting he had "the fastest boat on the Daly!" at one stage.
He was very well read, knew his history and relished a good debate. He was the funniest man we knew. We’ll miss his laugh every time he picked up the phone, delighted to hear our voices.
Adventurer, storyteller, historian, boiler maker, mango farmer, moonshiner, fisherman, crabber... a man of many talents that knew how to do just about anything.
He lived life his way right to the end. No funeral, no fuss, just his ashes to be scattered in the Darwin harbour and one last song played: ‘One Way Ticket to the Moon’ by Boney M.
Father to Luisa and Sonia and a loyal friend to others, he is very much loved and missed. There’ll never be another like him.
