The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
POLITIS, Nitsa.
To my darling Aunty Nitsa, from Tzia, to Piraeus, to Australia. You were my best friend and like a second mother. My Father adored you and trusted you with my life. We were like two peas in a pod. You took me everywhere with you, and once, when you didn’t, I threw stones at you, in disbelief. I will miss you completely. I have no where else to visit. Yiasou love your Niece, Mary Asikas.
Dear Great-est Aunty Nitsa, your generosity towards us and your love for us is forever in our hearts. The jokes, the coffee, and the fun we had at your house was the best. Thanks for the saucepans and the dryers, and everything else in-between. Fly high Theia Nitsa, Love from your Godson Colin, and your great Niece Thea and their families xxx
