Professed January 9, 1971 Ordained February 28, 1976.
Passed away unexpectedly

at Blenheim, New Zealand.
Dearly loved son of Bill and Maureen Pearce (both deceased), loved brother and brother-in-law of Peter and Helen, Brian and Kerry, Ann and Neil Cartwright and loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
John entered the Passionists’ Juniorate in 1967 and gave passionately to his Passionist brothers and sisters and to all those he ministered to. He was involved in a wide range of ministries including Youth and Adult Retreats, Parish Missions, Parish Ministry, Ecumenical and Interfaith sharing. In South Australia, he was the Director of The Monastery Retreat Centre, Glen Osmond and also assistant priest at Port Augusta.
John was currently the esteemed Parish Priest of Marlborough Parish, New Zealand and a much-valued member of the Passionist Leadership Team. We are deeply saddened to have lost such an energetic, creative, compassionate and pastoral minister and dear brother.
May he rest in peace.
