Kim Bruce Paterson, born 11 September 1935, died peacefully in Swansea on 30 August 2022 after a short illness.
Kim was loved dearly and greatly enriched the lives of his family - Helen, John, Rod and Bruce, Melissa, Anita and Clare, and his grandchildren Leo, Indigo and Tully.
He was remarkable, generous, loving, and surprising. He was gracious, and a gentleman with a wonderful sense of humour.
Kim's generous sharing of time and knowledge, his constant love and support, were deeply appreciated by extended family members and friends.
During a long career in Western Australia and Tasmania, he mentored many young lawyers, particularly encouraging women in the practice of law. Kim particularly valued his legal partnership and friendship with Peter Dowding of Perth, Western Australia.
Kim loved contributing to the arts and community projects and organisations, such as the East Coast Regional Development Organisation, Makers Creators and Earth Ocean Network.
In his retirement, he lived in Bicheno and enjoyed the kindness and consideration of the local community.
He was a member of the Greens since 2004 and was dedicated to social justice and the environment.
Kim’s family sincerely thank Dr Liz Grey, Dr Ashton Kelly and staff at the Bicheno Health Centre, and Dr Camilla Byrne, and the loving staff at May Shaw Health Centre.
