OVERINGTON. - Karen. It is with much sadness that we note the passing of former Ballarat West Labor Member, Karen Overington. Karen was the State Assembly Member from 1999 to 2010, returning to Parliament with support from 55% of her electorate in 2006. She was a grass roots worker and never lost sight of where she had come from, relating well to working people and Premiers alike. Karen will be remembered as a courageous local member who inspired others with her hard working, down to earth attitude. The community will be poorer for her passing.
