Patricia Myers
Chief Executive Karen Weston and staff of the Department of Education extend their deepest sympathy to the family, friends, colleagues and students of Patricia Myer on their loss. Patricia entered the teaching profession as a mature age student, graduating in 1981 with honours, and gave over 30 of years of dedicated service to schools and students in the NT and Canada, including 24 years of loyal commitment and leadership to the Anula Primary School community.
She was an outstanding teacher, in particular to the development of innovative programs for migrant and Indigenous students. She led the school in the Teaching Schools program and inspired many students to undertake teaching careers. She made numerous important contributions to school life and beyond, including as Principal. Her school camps are legendary. She is especially remembered for her kind, gentle encouragement of others and her deep devotion to children.
We thank Patricia for her outstanding service.
May she rest peacefully.
