MURPHY, Sr Joan OP. The Dominican Sisters of the Holy Cross Congregation are sad to announce that Joan died on Wednesday December 19, 2018 after a short illness. In her sixty- three years as a Dominican, Joan taught in a number of our schools where she was a much loved teacher, principal and colleague. In her retirement she worked as a volunteer at Catherine House for eighteen years. Together with her extended family and friends in Ireland and Australia, we remember her with love, and celebrate a life marked by compassion, kindness, generosity and fidelity. We thank Pauline Jenner OP and Barbara Specht OP who were Joan s community companions for more than twenty years and who cared lovingly for her during times of ill health. We extend our gratitude to the staff of 4E and 8F, Royal Adelaide Hospital, for their wonderful care of Joan during the last days of her life. 'Christ s is the seed, and Christ s is the harvest.'
