Danila Dilba would like to acknowledge the passing of one of the Northern Territory’s greatest leaders - Mooradoop Dr Kathleen Mary McGinness Mills - ‘Aunty Kathy’.

We pay our respects to the McGinness Mills family and the NT communities as, together, we mourn this incredible loss.

A strong and proud Kungarakan & Gurindji woman, Aunty Kathy fought with compassion for justice and equality of our people.

As a founding member of Danila Dilba and one of the first women elected to the Northern Land Council, she was a trail blazer and true leader in our community.

Aunty Kathy dedicated her life to creating better opportunities for our people and we thank her for her work, her commitment, and her love for her communities.

Our thoughts are with the families during this sad time.
