The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
McLAREN (nee Saunders). - Pamela April 13, 1935 - May 16, 2008 Through our tears we saw you sinking, and watched you pass away. Our hearts were slowly breaking, we wanted you to stay. But when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful, free from pain. How could we wish you back, with us to suffer once again. If roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick one for us. Place it in my Mother's hand, and tell her it's from us. Tell her that we love her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss uponher cheek, and hold her for awhile. Remembering you will be easy, we'll do it every day, but there's an ache within our hearts, that will never go away. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, as part of us went with you, the day God took you home. We will love you forever Mum - Your loving husband Jim, your children Fiona (dec.), Mark, John, Geoff, Liz and Jenny. Your grandchildren Michael, Justin, Matty and Jessica. To my dear and loved mother. To a person of complete contentment. To my mother so unselfishly gave of herself. Last and possessed empathy to all. The most giving person you could ever meet.
