29/11/1933 – 23/11/2022
Barrister, Solicitor, Opal Miner, Yachtsman
John McCormack, born in Melbourne, the eldest son of Tessie (nee Green) and Bill McCormack (both deceased) died peacefully in Scottsdale, Tasmania on 23 November, 2022.
John lived a colourful life, which took many forms. He lived in Melbourne, Cooper Pedy and Darwin, as an opal miner, yachtsman, barrister and solicitor. John was a great raconteur and widely read on many topics, including history, sailing, politics, mining, share trading to mention a few.
John lived life on his own terms and was enthusiastic with all his pursuits in life, not afraid to make substantial changes to his lifestyle and living conditions, to pursue his dreams.
I enjoyed many lunches at Charlies with John and may he rest in peace.
A life well lived.
