You held my hand when I was small
You caught me when I fell,
The hero of my childhood
And of latter years as well.
Every time I think of you
My heart it swells with pride.
And although I’ll always miss you, Dad,
I know you’re by my side.
In laughter and in sorrow,
In sunshine and in rain,
I know you’re watching over me
Until we meet again.
Dad you were my hero, mentor, best friend and moral compass and I cannot imagine life without you. I’m so very grateful I got to hold your hand and tell you how much I love and appreciate you and all you’ve done for our Family. You left on your terms … comfortable, with dignity and that wicked sense of humour. We’ll cherish all the wonderful memories and count our blessings every day that we had you in our lives.
