The Catholic Educational Community across Tasmania expresses our deep appreciation and love for Joy Matar. Joy was a teacher, Principal, colleague and friend who gave so much to children, families and Catholic Education. We express our deep sympathy, thoughts and prayers to Joy’s daughters Kate and Laura and Joy’s wider family. Joy will always remain a model for us of true leadership, service to others, absolute commitment to excellence in learning and providing a high level of pastoral care of staff, students and families in the communities in which she worked. May eternal light shine upon her and may God comfort all those she loved and touched.
