LYALL, Dr Peter John

27/1/1954 – 23/4/2022

Loving and cherished husband of Wendy, devoted father of Stuart and Matthew.

Peter passed away peacefully at Berwick, surrounded by family, after a four-year illness with a rare neuro degenerative condition.

He was a warm, kind person who enjoyed using his medical career both to explore the world and to serve his communities. He lived out his Christian faith in a practical, selfless and creative way. Peter thrived in his passion for music and the arts and used his gifts to entertain and honour others.

Beloved son of Ken (dec.) and Edith Lyall. Loving and cherished brother and brother-in-law to Judith, Alan, Heather, Andrew, Alison and Brenda. Wonderful uncle to Stephen, Em, Caitlin, Andrew, Alex, Luke and Jackie, and great-uncle to Aaron.

Peter enriched all our lives through his gentle, caring and loving nature, his creative soul, and his spirit of adventure.

Much loved and respected son-in-law of Brian (dec.) and Avon Ballantyne and cherished brother-in-law of Ian (dec.), Vicky, David and Nicola, and Greg. Loved uncle of Todd, Claire and Penny, Jack and Jamie, Anthony and Shani.

A humble and caring gentleman who enriched our lives immeasurably.

Now at peace in God’s care.
