LOVEKIN, Ellena Joyce

Daughter of Edith & Thomas Chapman, Sister of Norm Chapman, Mother etc of plenty. An extraordinary woman who amongst other things was a legend administrator in Redcliffe & Brisbane Hockey circles. Joycey (as she was known then), was the first woman Secretary in Australia of a men's capital city hockey association. She gave 'em hell, plus lots of laughs & supreme proficiency. Later in life she moved to Townsville and chose a quieter life, loving "The Strand" and reverting to her first name of Ellena. Until the very end, she still enjoyed her visits from loved ones. She understood they were bringing her love, even though she didn't know who they were. As per her wishes, she now swims with the dolphins and her life was celebrated in a private ceremony.
