Sydney Anthony (Syd)

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Sydney La Faber (Syd) on Sunday, 29th January 2023.

Syd shared a blessed, full life with his beloved family, friends, teaching colleagues, the Mitcham Arts Community, and his Blackwood neighbours.

Devoted partner of Judy Lawson for over 35 years, always by his side.

Precious son of Elaine and Malcolm (both deceased).

Deeply loved stepfather to Derek, Tash, Simone and Tommy (Tracey).

Respected father-in-law to Janelle, John and Mark.

Adored Pappa of Caitlin, Victoria, James, John (BJ), Bethany and Georgia.

Cherished companion of his faithful dog, Tilly.

Thank you for your grace, humour, generosity, creativity, loyalty, and dignity.

Syd, you were a true gentleman.
