Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
HILL, Maurice Kenneth. The Australian Manu- facturing Workers Union is very sad to hear of the passing of our esteemed past State President Maurice (Maurie) Hill. His early days were as Sheet Metal worker at the Railway workshops in Launceston, before his election to the position of State Organiser, then State President of the Amalgamated Metal Workers Union and then the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union, until his retirement in 1997. Maurie always knew what he stood for and who he was standing with, he stood with working people and those who were doing it tough. Maurie was always a very strong advocate for working people and their families. He was a strong and tireless leader, a true Working- Class hero in so many ways. We know he will be sadly missed by all that knew and worked with him. The Aust- ralian Manufacturing Workers Union send our deepest sympathy to Maurie s family and loved ones. Vale to Maurice Hill, a man of the people and true working-class hero.
