The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
GIOVE. - Andrew. Our beautiful boy Andrew was with us for seventeen wonderful months, then became an angel before his time. You were always so happy which made our time together so easy. You are in no more pain now, no more doctors or hospitals for you now. We will never, ever forget you, we know you are still with us and watching over us. We love you very much. Always in our hearts Booba. - Mummy, Daddy, sister Ashlee and brother Luke. Our beautiful little boy Andrew, who for seventeen months touched the lives of so many people. He was the pioneer in peritoneal dialysis, something that we and his Mum, Dad, sister and brother are so proud of. Your Nanna so desperately wanted to give you her kidney but was cut short due to an unforseen incident. We will always remember the special cuddles you gave Nanna and the special bond you had with your Grandpa. Too many operations, too much suffering, all this has ended now. A special thank you to the teams at R.C.H. N.N.U and I.C.U. and especially 7West, whose love and devotion to Andrew will never be forgotten. Our love for Andrew will never disappear. - Nanna and Grandpa. O X X X O A special thank you to Krystyna, Sara, Esther, Marie, Colin, Harley, Josh and Paul, and all the nursing staff on ward 7West at the R.C.H. You loved Andrew as much as we did. All our thanks - Mario and TaniaGiove.
