Ordained at St Patrick’s Cathedral, East Melbourne, 24 July 1960, Fr Paul was appointed as the Assistant Priest at Fawkner Parish, Brunswick Parish, Clayton Parish and Doncaster Parish. In 1968 Fr Paul was on study appointment at Melbourne University and appointed the Assistant to the Director of Catholic Education from 1968 – 1977. In 1978 he was appointed Parish Priest of Mooroolbark until 1999. During this time he also served as the Episcopal Vicar for Tertiary Education from 1986 – 1999. His skills and generosity in service to Catholic Education is to be commended, having served as a Council Member for Newman College, Mannix College, Melbourne College of Divinity and the Victorian Chapter of Australian Catholic University. Fr Paul served God’s people with joy and generosity. His support for education stood out among his many gifts. The Archdiocese is most grateful for his service to the Church and the wider civic community for over 64 years. He will be remembered as a priest who served God’s people with joy and generosity.
