Died peacefully at home 1st January 2020

Jan loved her children Sue, Maggie and Rod and ex-husband John; she enjoyed keeping in touch with them and sharing humorous moments. Particularly in the latter years Jan relied on them all for support in many areas. Her innate creativeness was evident through sewing, cake decorating, designing house plans and card making. Jan was keenly interested in reading, travelling, Asian cooking, a variety of collections, The Royal Family, Egyptian history, tennis and swimming. For many years Jan was an active member of the Rosicrucian Order and a volunteer at Byron Place Centre.

Married for 25 years to John Edmonds, he remained a support until her death. Mother and mother-in-law to Suzanne (Lorri Dvoracsek) Edmonds, Maggie (Andris) Balodis, Rod (Victoria) Edmonds. Gran J to Jordan, Lara, Bethany, Thomas, Lachlan and Maddie. Sister to Raelene Barr and Graham Evans. Sister-in-law and friend to Anne Wensley. Aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews especially Jenny Drew whose care and concern Jan valued. Pre-deceased by her parents Gladys and Richard Evans and Cyril and Elsie Briggs.

At Jan’s request Cremation will take place privately. Jan’s desire was for friends and family to have a coffee (she loved good coffee and Haigh’s chocolate) in her memory. Thank you to Dr. Janet Sinclair for her care of and friendship toward mother over the years.
