On Thursday the 17th of September 2020, Despina Kanellos (nee Paradisis), loving wife of Theodoros, beloved mother of Mata, Louis and Angela, cherished Yia Yia of Alex, Despina, Theodore, Sienna and Oscar, great Yia Yia of Giorgio and Olympia passed away at the age of 81. Despina was born on the 28th of February 1939 in Chios, Greece and emigrated to Australia in 1960 at the age of 21. She worked in small business in Adelaide most of her life with her husband raising her three children. She was a determined but very kind lady and her life revolved around her family. She had a cheeky sense of humour, loved cooking and feeding people. Her love of family was unceasing. She will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace. Dear Yia Yia, You were the best Yia Yia I could think of. I loved how you always wanted to feed me. A great mother and awesome Yia Yia and a kind great Yia Yia. You always did stuff for me but I wish I could do stuff for you. I wish you lasted longer and you weren't in pain. A very kind Yia Yia, so very kind. We miss you and what you did and I just can't express how much I love you. From Oscar to Yia Yia
