COUWENBERG, Winifred

We sadly announce the passing of Winifred "Winnie" Couwenberg. She died peacefully with her husband Theo by her side. Winnie was born in Modjokerto, Java, Indonesia, on November 27, 1927. She met her husband Theodore (Theo) Couwenberg in the Netherlands. Together they lived in New Zealand before settling in Australia. Winnie was loved for her warm hospitality, especially in the local Dutch-Indonesian community and was known for her wonderful Indonesian cooking. She leaves behind her devoted husband Theo, to whom she was a loyal companion and her absence will be profoundly felt. Rest in peace Winnie. You will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
