LEE, Colin
Colin Reginald Lee, aged 86
Lost to us suddenly on Tuesday, 24 March 2020 through complications of pneumonia, despite the heroic and compassionate efforts of the nursing staff at St John of God Hospital, Geelong. Late of HM Northamptonshire Constabulary (emigrated 1965), retired from Shell refinery (1988). Tender and devoted husband first to Gill (d. 2003) and then to Lee (surviving). Proud and loving father of Neil and Michael and their wives, Wendy and Jackie; doting grandfather of Daniel, Tamika, Jarrod and Allister; delighted great-grandfather to Cooper, Finn, Harriette, Odette and Audrey. He lived a full life; he worked at jobs he loved, made friends everywhere he went, and travelled widely. He was well-known for his hospitality, his integrity, his immaculate appearance, his truth and kindness and his terrible puns and practical jokes. His recreational passion was fishing and his sporting passion was rugby. He retired to his beloved hobby farm and had an abiding love of the land. He was a Freemason, belonged to the RUSI, IPA and Probus. He was honest, kind, hard-working and trustworthy. His first priority was ALWAYS to ensure the comfort and safety of his wife and family. His many, many friends could count on him in trouble and delight in him in joy. He was never too tired to help others and never complained for himself.
Due to the current health concerns, there will be a Private Cremation with a possible live Memorial Service later in the year.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.
(quoted from WH Auden)
Sleep well, my darling husband; you’ve run a good, clean race and it’s time to rest. Loving you and looking after you were the greatest privileges of my life. You take all my love with you and I’ll see you in the morning. God bless you and keep you forever. Your Lee
