CAMERON (nee MCMARTIN), Louise

Louise McDonald Cameron (nee McMartin) born Falkirk Scotland. Beloved wife of Duncan Alexander Cameron, he loved her dearly.   Passed away 06/07/2023. Late of Pigeon Ponds and Bullant Ridge, her last few years in Coleraine.

Active to the end, she squeezed every ounce out of her 91 years. A voracious scrabble player, no quarter was given or asked. She loved quizzes and always had a puzzle on the go; Knitted countless hats for the Seafarer’s mission, starting her final hat in her last week.

Saying Louise had a green thumb is an understatement; she could grow anything, so proud of her orchids and frangipani when everyone said it wasn’t possible.

She was tough as they come and handy with the gloves when the occasion demanded!

Everyone who knew her has heard Louise state:

‘Thank God politicians can’t control the weather’

(we had some interesting discussions about that!) and

‘Every dog has its day!’

Joining her beloved husband Duncan, mother Jeannie, and siblings Mary, Margaret, Billy, Peter and Robert for a well deserved scotch (no mixers allowed).

Treasured Aunt of Fiona and Gran to Christian.

Her loss is felt deeply by brother Donald, sisters-in-law Audrey, Margaret and Nora. Much loved by her countless nieces and nephews and their families.

One in a million, she will be sorely missed.

Many thanks to Dr Greta, and her team, Jenny and Lindy, for their great work over the years and the team at Wannon Hostel.
