The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
15.7.1934 - 9.11.2022
Much loved youngest son of Athol and Eileen.
Dearly loved husband of Thelma.
On the road of life we walked, together day by day.
Friends and sweethearts, man and wife.
Good companions all the way.
But every marriage has its sunset.
One is taken, one goes on.
To make the most of what is left.
Although the best is gone, and yet I shall not be done.
Some part of you will still remain, to help through its darkest hours.
Until at last we meet again,
I love you, my darling.
Much loved father and father-in-law to Rodney and Jan, Gaylene and Paul, Leanne and Bill, and Michelle and Graham.
Loving Pop to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His pleasures were simple, his needs were few, if his family were happy, he was too.
He gave us love in the fullest measure.
Care, devotion and memories to treasure.
He shared our dreams, hopes and tears, thank you Dad for those precious years.
Rest Peacefully Dad.
