Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
BROWN. _ Eileen. Nanny Lemons with sugar, Lloyds lemonade, popsicles with sticks on hot summer days. The grandkids down at the fruit trees having a yap, Nanny in the kitchen clickity clack. The radio always on football or racing and food on the table was yours for the tasting. Wow what a life through the good and the bad, always brave faced even when sad. Gentle and caring but it needs to be said, you were the toughest old chook in that darn chicken shed. You needed to rest, gone to meet your maker. So rest peacefully Nanny and we'll catch up again later. Adored Nanny to Vanessa and Scott, cherished Great Nanny to Jade, Sharni, Blaze and Bailey (dec.). Dearly loved mother to Maureen and Ron (both dec.).
