BLAKE. _ Rev. Cyril. The Committee of Melbourne Overseas Missions, chaired by the Archibishop of Melbourne, mourn the loss of Fr Cyril Blake. From 1969 until 1981, Cyril worked tirelessly in the isolated Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea as a Missionary Priest. There he established a church, schools, medical facilities, community resources and an airstrip - transforming the lives of indigenous peoples in some of the most remote communities on earth. In return, he was deeply loved and respected by the Kamea people. Upon his return to Melbourne in 1981, he remained a passionate supporter of Melbourne Overseas Missions for the Archdiocese of Melbourne. May he rest in peace; good and faithful servant.
