Born in Bagnara, Prov. Reggio Calabria, Italy on August 13, 1928. Passed away peacefully at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on September 1, 2021. Aged 93 years. Dearly beloved husband of Teresa for 59 years. Loving father and father-in-law of Joe and Angela, Rosaria (deceased), Joanne and Graham Wegner. Cherished Nonno of Sara, Eli, Aaron and Josh. Loved son of Giuseppe and Rosaria Barila and Vincenzo and Giovanna Dominici (all deceased). Loving brother and brother-in-law of Carmela and Pasquale (dec) Pirrotta (Italy), Giuseppe and Carolina Barila, Domenica and Carmelo Giannotta (Argentina), Rocco (dec) and Mimma Barila, Nina and Mario Fulco, Vincenzo Barila, Giovanna and Tony Iacopetta. Loved brother-in-law of Giovanna Dominici, Carmelo Dominici (dec), Francesco Dominici (all in Italy). Carmelo will be loved and remembered by all his nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Australia and overseas. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Angela Laudato and all the staff at both Ananda Aged Care Findon and Ward 2FD at the RAH for their loving care and compassion. Nonno, Loving and kind in all his ways, Sincere and true in heart and mind. A beautiful memory left behind, The blow was great, the shock severe, We all knew the end was near. Only those who have lost can tell The pain of parting, the last farewell. You tried so hard to stay and get well, But the Lord had your place already prepared.
