You were called Newie, Dad, Big Dad, Athe, Towie or Sam, as these were your names.

A year ago today, you left us and life has never been the same.

We look around the house and everything reminds us of you,

your laughter, your smile and how you loved to go to the pokies too.

Your favourite drink XXXX Gold,

always in the fridge and ready to go.

You enjoyed watching footy and doing your footy tips,

you always picked Cowboys win or lose.

You played your favourite song Baby Blue,

pretending to play the mouth organ after you had a few.

Weekends you would mow the lawn, as kids ran around everywhere,

you took pride in your yard which showed you cared.

Working boots remind us of your hard working railway days,

where you were the Ganger of the No.4 Flying Gang.

You are always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts.

We each cry our own silent tears from morning to dark.

If tears could build a railway line and memories build a train,

we would ride right up to heaven and bring you back home to Fulham Road again.

As we each close our eyes, we hope to see you in our dreams,

where we can hug you one more time and kiss you on the cheek.
