The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Today we farewell former City of Charles Sturt Councillor and Freeman John Pinto.
John served on Council for a period of 30 consecutive years during which time he provided leadership and guidance to his peers through his vast experience in Local Government. John also served on several Council committees and as a State Executive Member of the Local Government Association, a position he occupied for a number of years.
John was a resident of the City of Charles Sturt for the entirety of his life, living in Croydon, Seaton, Fulham Gardens and Grange and owning and operating a business off Findon Road. Later in life, John dedicated himself to volunteer service by driving the City of Charles Sturt community bus, helping the elderly and those in nursing homes.
In 2011, he was inducted as a Freeman of the City in recognition of his service to the community and Local Government.
John was a dedicated, active, and giving member of the community and his legacy will live on in the lives all of those he positively impacted.
We thank and celebrate his contributions to our City and our thoughts are with his wife Teresa and his family during this time.
