The Hon Tom Ian Pauling AO KC

1946 – 2023

The Northern Territory Solicitor-General’s Chambers extends its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of The Honourable Tom Pauling AO KC.

Originally from New South Wales, Mr Pauling moved to Darwin to practice law in 1970. He became a leading barrister in the Northern Territory, was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1984 and served as Solicitor-General of the Northern Territory from 1988 to 2007.

His Honour was the Administrator of the Northern Territory from 2007 to 2011 and was appointed Officer of the Order of Australia in 2008 for his significant services to the Northern Territory.

Mr Pauling will be remembered for his significant contributions to the Northern Territory legal profession.
