The President, councillors, executive and
staff of MacDonnell Regional Council
extend their sincere condolences to
the family and friends of
Mr Anderson
His dedicated commitment to the
community of Papunya, the people of the
Western MacDonnell districts and more
broadly throughout Central Australia was
exemplified through his service to the
MacDonnell Regional Council.
Mr Anderson was a foundation member
of the MacDonnell Shire Council (as it
was then named) when elected to serve
as a councillor of the Luritja Pintubi ward.
In Council’s first year he was appointed
as President by his fellow elected
members and held the position for seven
years. He was twice re-elected as
councillor and twice re-appointed as the
MacDonnell Regional Council President
and served until retiring in 2018.
Under his leadership the MacDonnell
Regional Council found its direction as a
local government council.
His dedication
and leadership will be missed.
