Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
McLACHLAN, Nigel13.08.1975 - 24.06.2017Nigel passed away peacefully while wrapped up in my arms.I wish to extend my most sincere thanks to Life Flight, Dr Teresa Withers, Dr Dorian Pniel, Dr Wade Pullin(plus Anita and Paula), Dr Timothy Shannon and the Doctors from palliative care at Robina Hospital. The amazing work you do gave us the chance to create precious memories together that I'll always cherish. To the truly wonderful nursing staff, specials and Jane from H1 South Robina, a huge thank you for treating Nigel with the upmost care and respect and for the comfort you gave him when he was scared and confused. Nigel felt strongly that he didn't want to have a funeral. He was adamant that the way people treated him in life meant more than any words they said after his death. He wanted a celebration of life where his closest friends could share a drink in his honour, laugh and remember him how he was before brain cancer robbed him of so much. This will be organised shortly and those invited to attend will be notified. Nigel and I were blessed to travel extensively but his favourite place in the world was Bali. Soon at a quiet little beach outside Nusa Dua I will spread his ashes, sit on the sand, watch the sunset and remember the amazing man he was. He has left a gaping hole in my soul and words can't express the loss I feel.I will adore and cherish him always. Michell
