The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
13 June 1973 - 23 April 2001
When the long working day is over
and the sun slips low to the sea,
in that tranquil calm of the half-light
your spirit come gently to me.
Then I hear the riff of your laughter,
I see the warmth of your smile,
and feel the fire of your passion,
as we sit and commune for a while.
I treasure that time at the end of each day
when I imagine and dream for a space,
that your chair at the table’s not empty,
and you’re still here with us at our place.
Rest in Peace our Beautiful Girl
