HARRIS - GAHANMichaelPassed Away 10.02.2003O Captain! My Captain! To the rest of the world you were my teacher at South Brisbane TAFE in 1989,but to me you were much more than a teacher:You were an inspirationto us allYour worldly knowledge left us begging you for more. You had the loudest"How do you do?"The biggest smile, let's face it Michael, you were a man of style.Your eloquent English accent left us wide-eyed and mesmerised. You would make ordinary words and sayingssound electrified.Showman-like in many ways.We could not help but turn and gaze. All your lessons were a refreshing burstWhere fun, excitment and learning always came first.Lessons planned with thought and care,Only you could make learning feel like we were flying through the air.You were most definitely one of a kindYour theatrics, rhymes and wild comical lines just blew my mind,Quizzes, puzzles, the adverbial clause meets mixed metaphors. You deserve a round of applause.Legendary, Revolutionary, Luminary, Visionary.Quite simply...You were extraordinary.I thank you once more for being my teacher at South Brisbane TAFE in 1989, for always going that extra mile on behalf of your students, believing in us and for always striving to bring out our very best. From your former Student Darren ScottRest in PeaceMy Learned Friend
